Writing has the transformative power to help us - quite literally - close chapters in our lives and open new ones.
By putting pen to paper, we can process past experiences, release old patterns, and set intentions for the future.
This practice not only provides clarity and closure but also paves the way for new opportunities and growth.
Whether it's through journaling, storytelling, or crafting affirmations, writing can be a powerful tool for personal transformation and embracing change.
Currently, I am revisiting the content on my tarot website, which I have hosted for 20 years. Since it will be closing by July 2025, I am in the process of gradually moving some posts to Blogger.
I do this to simplify my life. No more hosting fees and regular website maintenance.
As I review and edit each post, I experience a range of emotions—from embarrassment and amusement to admiration for my tenacity back then, when I published workbooks, journaling sheets, and courses.
It's been quite a reflective journey filled with nostalgia as I look back on my work—each piece is a snapshot of who I was at that time.
Perhaps spending time reviewing my old posts seems crazy, but for me, it's about wrapping up 20 years of my online life and creating a sense of closure.
Reflecting on the person I was and who I have become, I watch as my words float away into the ethereal expanse of cyberspace.
As I migrate my posts to their new final resting place, it feels like I'm not just preserving a small part of my humble legacy, but also providing a valuable resource for others for as long as Google keeps Blogger going 😄
And then, it's OK to let go. Nothing lasts forever.
But at this moment, I'm oddly enjoying this.
It feels like catching up with an old friend I haven't seen in years, reminiscing about the good and bad old days.
Some people say they would never revisit their old writings or journal entries, but sometimes it can be a powerful exercise in self-reflection and growth.
It's always fascinating to look back to see how far you've come, and how much you've grown and changed over time.
How your writing has gradually changed and improved.
Identifying and learning from mistakes.
Processing old emotions and experiences can also be therapeutic and helpful to heal and move forward.
Recognizing the positive moments and encounters with wonderful people can foster a sense of gratitude and appreciation.
And this is not the end.
I am still very fond of tarot and oracle cards, but they're no longer part of my everyday life.
Instead, they gently nudge me once in a while, such as when I reflect on my current year card or the global year card, to contemplate both my own and the world's journey ahead.
Sometimes, during certain situations, a random tarot image pops up in my mind, and in those moments, I let it guide me.
I also continue to journal with my Divination DIYs, which might make an appearance here on Substack and even in some of my future YouTube videos.
After all, tarot journaling prompts can also be used without the cards, if they don’t resonate with you.
But if this idea intrigues you and you're feeling curious about journaling with tarot and oracle cards, you might find yourself embarking on a fun and enlightening journey of self-discovery.
If you like, you can make a start with my seasonal tarot spread / journaling prompts Gifts of the Season.
✨Wishing you a magical, joyous, and peaceful festive season🎄
Until next time,
I'm in a very similar place of reviewing my past work and moving things around, deciding what to keep. Thanks for sharing and all the best!
